An enchanting day spent at Chateau de Versailles in France led me to an amazing spiral staircase in one of the many ornate foyers. I had just left the stunning Hall of Mirrors, and my imagination was running wild with the lavish masquerade balls the Sun King had surely hosted there. Inspired by these thoughts, I painted the staircase in vivid colors & added the eye, turning it into a mask at one of those balls!

An original painting done using high quality, artist grade watercolor paints, on 140 lb. premium Arches watercolor 100% cotton fiber paper.
