Leaf!

A colorful fall leaf seen on a hike in the foothills of the Blue Ridge mountains. I was inspired to paint it for its color, and also for the heart found naturally in the leaf's center.

For the background, salt was used to give it all those delightful bursts & texture ... very batik-like! When dry, the salt is then brushed off to reveal the surprise design.

An unframed, original painting done using high quality, artist grade watercolor paints, on 140 lb. premium Arches watercolor 100% cotton fiber paper.

Dimensions: 14.5" x 18". Overall size will be larger based on framing chosen.
