Medusa and Child
This is the Medusa, a name given to a tree whose snake-like roots tenaciously cling to an embankment at Falls Parks in Greenville, SC. When I visited to take a series of reference photos, I noticed a smaller tree whose roots intertwined with hers. Thus the name, "Medusa & Child", in honor of the smaller tree clinging just as tenaciously. Many of the locals here in Greenville know & love this tree!
