Sunset: Take 1
This is part of a collection of 12 original watercolor + encaustic paintings of the gargoyles atop Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris, France.
The city below is shown as mutable, and somewhat imaginary -- while the gargoyles themselves are unchanged, but a bit more colorful than their stone counterparts now watching over the City of Light.
Be sure to look at the close up images, as watercolor & encaustic are at their most magical when viewed up close & personal. If you're unfamiliar with the encaustic medium, go here to learn more about it.
This piece was done on an 8" x 10" canvas panel and comes to you already framed in a nice, crisp white wood frame, ready to hang. The overall dimension with the frame is 10" x 12".
The scale depicted in the photos is approximate, and should not be used to determine how the painting will look in your personal space.
