Tower of London: Poppies & Puddles
A beautiful fall day spent at the Tower of London in England. We were there to appreciate an art installation in the tower's moat of over 888,246 handcrafted red clay poppies to commemorate the fallen British soldiers of World War I. Needless to say the day was powerful, and at the same time the view of those poppies was absolutely breathtaking!
I chose to paint just a few hundred of those poppies, being especially intrigued by their shadows & reflections in the surrounding puddles from the rain earlier in the day.
